Introducing IRMCA’s ‘Developing Concrete Leaders’ Program – Kicking Off April 10!

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association is proud to announce the launch of its Developing Concrete Leaders program! Through months of planning, this exclusive leadership training series will equip the next generation of concrete industry professionals with essential leadership knowledge, skills and abilities.

IRMCA’s Developing Concrete Leaders program shapes individuals who want to grow within their companies and take on leadership roles in the concrete industry. The program will include expert-led educational sessions, hands-on learning, and valuable networking opportunities. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence needed to become effective leaders. IRMCA remains committed to developing talent and ensuring our industry remains strong for years to come.

Nominations are now open for nominees, with priority given to producer members, for this exclusive leadership program. With limited availability, the IRMCA encourages early registration to secure a spot in this career-enhancing opportunity. Partnering with the IU Indianapolis Office of Community Engagement, this program will deliver a comprehensive Leadership Training Series tailored specifically for IRMCA participants.

Program Overview & Schedule (all times listed are Eastern)
Total Cost: $1300. Participants should be in person for each and every session, NO online option is available.

Session 1: You Are a Leader – Part I
📆Thursday, April 10, 2025 | ⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
📍 ICI Office Conference Room, Downtown Indianapolis
Facilitator: Danni Cagnet
Overview: Foundational leadership principles, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and
establishing credibility as a leader.

Session 2: You Are a Leader – Part II
📆Thursday, June 26, 2025 | ⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m.
ICI Office Conference Room, Downtown Indianapolis
Facilitators: Charlotte Westerhouse-Renfrow & Ryan Outlaw
Overview: Leadership behaviors, decision-making strategies, navigating challenges, resilience,
trust-building, vision, and strategic thinking.

Session 3: Leading Teams Effectively
📆Thursday, August 28, 2025 | ⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m.
📍ICI Office Conference Room, Downtown Indianapolis
 Facilitators: Barb Cutillo & Amrou Awaysheh
Overview: Managing team dynamics, effective communication, conflict resolution, fostering
accountability, and driving innovation.

Final Session: Leadership in Action
📆Thursday, November 20, 2025 | ⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m.
📍ICI Office Conference Room, Downtown Indianapolis
Facilitators: Chris Smithhisler & Richard Bray
Overview: A hands-on case study and project-based learning experience to apply leadership
principles to real-world scenarios.

* Participants will be expected to participate in a networking dinner facilitated by the IRMCA. This dinner will occur the evening before each session at a restaurant downtown Indianapolis.
* Participants will also be expected to participate in each Concrete Professionals of Indiana committee meeting, two of which are  scheduled the same day as the June and August sessions.

Instructors
Developing Concrete Leaders will be led by experienced faculty from IU Indianapolis, including:
  • Danni Cagnet– Senior Lecturer of Management, Kelley School of Business.
  • Charlotte Westerhouse-Renfrow – Tobias Leadership Center scholar-in-residence, Clinical Associate Professor of Business Law & Management.
  • Ryan Outlaw – Associate Professor of Management, specializing in organizational development.
  • Barb Cutillo – Lecturer of Management, focusing on leadership, strategic growth, and communication.
  • Amrou Awaysheh – Associate Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management.
  • Chris Smithhisler – Director, Tobias Leadership Center.
  • Richard Bray – Partnership Manager, IU Indianapolis Office of Community Engagement.

Program Details & Enrollment
  • Class Size: Limited to 12 participants
  • Tuition: $1,300 per person
  • Meals Provided: IRMCA will provide a light breakfast and lunch at each session.
  • Networking Dinners: Participants are highly encouraged to arrive the evening before each session for a networking dinner hosted by IRMCA.
  • CPI Events: Participants are also strongly encouraged to stay for CPI events following the June and August sessions.
